Dashboard Co-op presents: *Ground Floor OCTOBER 8, 2011
Come witness breathtaking, temporary transformations of 5 vacant Edgwood Ave buildings by 8 Atlanta, New York and New Orleans-based artists. Dash is daring to imagine what's possible if artists, gallerists and organizations were given the resources to infuse ATL's crumbly, unused buildings with challenging, site-specific art. We spent two weeks building out spaces and meeting people who live and work on Edgewood, there's a shared, palpable enthusiasm at the thought of 5 additional art venues bringing more foot-traffic, life and beauty to the stretch. But to truly understand what magic happens when our vibrant streets are activated with art and community, YOU have to show up.
Therefore, Dashboard Co-op warmly invites you to Ground Floor, An Edgewood Art Walk.
The stroll begins at 483 Edgewood Ave (Sound Table) then follow the GLITTER STARS west all the way to Music Room. Maps will be provided at each venue and we'll have volunteers in the street to help direct. Park on the street, ride bikes, or take MARTA to King Memorial if you're feeling curious.

Echoes of the Sublime
Emily Amy Gallery is pleased to present Echoes of the Sublime, its first-ever photography exhibition in conjunction with Atlanta Celebrates Photography. Local photographer, Stephanie Dowda, acts as curator for the show choosing works that embody the elusive notion of the sublime. The show features eleven talented photographers from Atlanta and across the country. By drawing upon more traditional concepts of the sublime such as idyllic landscapes as well as more abstract interpretations that include intimate love affairs, Dowda seeks to create a strong body of works that suggest transcendental ideals. Please join us in celebrating the opening reception of the exhibition, Friday, September 9th, from 7-10 pm.
Echoes of the Sublime features works by the following: Allyson Ross of New York, John Paul Floyd of Atlanta, Klea McKenna of San Francisco, Wes Cummings of Atlanta, Justin Weaver of Atlanta, Jeff Rich of Savannah, Aaron Norberg of Portland, Lauren Hughes of Atlanta, Ryan Hendon of San Francisco, Ashley Kauschinger of Atlanta and Megan Gorham of San Francisco. Please join us in welcoming many of the exhibiting artists to Emily Amy Gallery to celebrate the opening of their show. Cocktails and hors dā oeuvres will be served.
