Mission

Dashboard Co-Op’s goals are to empower and promote artists in New York and Atlanta, and instigate individual and collaborative expression.

Dashboard offers FREE promotion to artists without formal representation, practicing in any medium. We throw large ART parties/gallery exhibitions, giving Dashboard members a platform to show their work—if a piece sells, the artist keeps 100% of the proceeds.

Additionally, we host FREE group and one-on-one workshops to teach artists practical skills needed to promote their work and perpetuate creative momentum.

We have forged partnerships with like-minded organizations and local publications, giving Dashboard artists broad exposure and more opportunity to create, exhibit and sell their work.

Who We Are

Dashboard CO-OP was founded in a smelly, smokey Atlanta bar by Courtney Hammond and Beth Malone. We do lots of shit-talking but this is first idea we had that seemed relatively doable. Created without hubris or selfish intention, we built the site to promote artist-pals of ours, in addition to other gifted folks we haven’t had the privilege of meeting yet. Art supplies cost lots, the creation process is extensive and intensive, and more times than not the final product ends up stacked in an art studio/shed/garage where no one ever gets to see it.

We hope to change that by making it FREE and easy to show off work that deserves to be seen. We’ll work to develop relationships with gallery owners and other sites nationwide doing similar work with the belief that this will create an artist network of great proportion, respect and capability. Our pipe-dream is to travel worldwide looking for great art. Dreaming in pipe can get risky, but rest assured, we have zero delusions of grandeur.

Dashboard CO-OP will always remain non-profit (officially one day, as we’re in the process of applying for 501(c)(3) status), but we will always need help finding artists. Keep your eyes open and be in touch.

Courtney Hammond

Creative Director, Co-founder Courtney has dual BAs in sculpture and marketing from Georgia State University. She interned under George Beasley in Lumsden, Scotland where she grew an enormous affinity for scotch and sunlight. She currently focuses on throwing explosive art extravaganzas where people bring weapons of mass destruction to express creative inhibitions, get out demons or just show off to pretty girls. She does sales for a local company to make the dough. Court parties hard but saves at least one kitten a week to balance her soul. She really loves lefties.

Beth Malone

Director of Development, Co-founder Beth has a Masters in art journalism from the University of Glasgow and dual BAs in literature and history from Georgia State University. She currently works for the New York Foundation for the Arts. She's written for NYFA Current, Creative Loafing, AJC, Pine Mag, Not For Tourists and Stomp and Stammer. Beth writes crappy fiction, paints crappy pictures and is pretty badass on the ukulele (yes, that's an oxymoron). She likes working on film projects with Big Party High 5 and playing with Courtney Hammond in their funny house.
