Mission

Dashboard Co-op activates raw space with radical contemporary art to inspire neighborhood development and cultural awareness.

Vision

Dashboard Co-Op strives to make contemporary art accessible to broad audiences by producing shows of diverse performance and visual mediums in vacant, dynamic spaces. Intending to heighten the cultural caliber of a city, we present a unique platform and various opportunities for artists while concurrently invigorating neighborhoods and encouraging awareness for potential economic and social growth, investment and advancement.

Who We Are

Dashboard CO-OP was founded in a smelly, smokey Atlanta bar by Courtney Hammond and Beth Malone. We do lots of talking but this is first idea we had that seemed relatively doable. Created without hubris or selfish intention, we built the site to promote artist-pals of ours, in addition to other gifted folks we haven’t had the privilege of meeting yet. Art supplies cost lots, the creation process is extensive and intensive, and more times than not the final product ends up stacked in an art studio/shed/garage where no one ever gets to see it.

We hope to change that by making it FREE and easy to show off work that deserves to be seen. We want to use our city to create outlandish experiences that engage a broad audience and further educate people about the art being created in their backyards. Our pipe-dream is to travel worldwide looking for great art. Dreaming in pipe can get risky, but rest assured, we have zero delusions of grandeur.

Dashboard CO-OP will always remain non-profit, but we will always need help finding artists. Keep your eyes open and be in touch.

Beth Malone

Managing Director, Co-founder Beth and her Dash-mates have gotten damn good at curating large-scale and experiential exhibitions in both raw, forgotten properties and pristine art spaces. These days, she can start a generator with her eyes closed and climb pretty high on stuff. Beth's animated films have screened in New York and Atlanta, and her writing has been published here and there. Currently, she's the Coordinator of Teen Programs at the High Museum of Art, and will forever hold an MLitt from the Uni of Glasgow. Beth is a she-devil on the ukulele (lies) and thinks Courtney Hammond is a magician like no other (truths). .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

Courtney Hammond

Creative Director, Co-founder Courtney has a BFA in sculpture and a BBA in marketing from Georgia State University. She is a freelance curator and the Outreach and Education Project Supervisor for The City of Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs Public Art Program. Courtney hosts impromptu therapeutic art extravaganzas for the masses which generally have something to do with blowing things up. She formulates ideas by spinning around until dizzy and believes that all things should be bigger than they are. Courtney plays three songs on the xylophone, makes origami and is floored by magic tricks. Also, she loves Beth Malone to pieces. .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

Romy Maloon

She served on the Elevate Art Above Underground Development Committee with the lovely Courtney Hammond and studied monastic artistry with monks in Tibet. She enjoys collecting odd craft materials in bulk and dusting glitter onto any surface that will have it. .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
